"Ritual is an enacted poem, a sequence of actions designed to awaken powerful emotional and psychological forces." -Starhawk "We enter into ritual in order to respond to the call of the soul." -Malidoma Patrice Somé

Ritual is a technology that has existed the world over and throughout time because it is in our bones. We have an innate need to symbolically express abstract, yet meaningful concepts about our relations, status, developmental stage, role in the community, and so on, into concrete experience our psyches can grasp and make use of.

In life, we are meant to transcend again and again. We need to know we have made it from one place to another (including knowing that we were traveling to begin with) in order for life to have meaning. When we aren't given structures to facilitate our transcendence, we may feel stuck or depressed, and life can lack a sense of purpose, dynamism or meaning.

I partner with individuals, couples, families, communities, and other groups in need of transitioning from or into a developmental stage, a role, or relationship.  Together, we craft and carry out a ritual with personal meaning for you, drawing from your traditions and meaningful symbols.

Rituals may be done for any life transition. Some are: initiation into a new stage of life (birth, adolescence, adulthood, parenthood, eldership, or death); initiation into a new social/familial role (i.e., an adult child moving into a caregiver role with an aging parent; an adult taking on parentage of a partner’s child, a foster child, or adopting; partner commitment or marriage; ending a relationship or divorce; grief; gender transition; completion of an inner-journey).

Participation in mythic ritual allows us to find ourselves because we are reconnecting with the fundamental essence of being.
