About Header
Research has consistently shown that the most important factor in the success of therapy is the relationship between client and therapist. It is essential that “the fit” between us feels right. To help you in your decision-making I’d like to share some of my background. I have been working in the healing arts for over 13 years. I have a Masters Degree in clinical psychology with an emphasis in Expressive Arts Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies. I am a long-term meditation practitioner and am currently enrolled in Somatics & Trauma Practitioner's Training with Staci Haines and Generative Somatics. Over the years I have worked in a range of clinical settings, with the main focus of my work being in-depth psychotherapy integrating the use of the arts. My work and studies have led me to believe that cognitive understanding alone does not lead to change. This is because change comes through experience rather than insight alone. Part of the value of a somatics-based and expressive arts approach lies in its ability to offer clients a new way of experiencing themselves in the moment.
